Ever heard of a strange breed of dogs- that are Barkless or does not bark. You may say its illogical or absurd to make statements like these. But even to my surprise, this Dog breed instead of barking makes a vocalizing unusual Yodel sound.
Yodeling is like rhythmic musical sound that is much closer to Wolfs howl rather than Traditional dogs Bark. Due to their distinctive and unusual shape of Larynx- they produce this sound.
Attributes of Basenji Dog
🐶Origination History- Basenji Dog breed originated from the Central part of Africa and has a unique cat like cleaning habit.
🐶Size - This breed is amazingly powerful irrespective of their size. Average size of them is between 16 to 17 inches up till the shoulder, but females tends to be shorter in comparison of males.
🐶Behavioural Temperament- They are extremely Loyal, Clever, Alert and Self grooming like cats.
🐶Appearance- Although their size varies from Small to medium, yet they are very incredibly powerful regardless of their size. Built to be Agile and Athletic, with a wrinkled forehead , erect ears and tail curled firmly, coat is smooth and shiny .
🐶Dog used for- Basenji Dogs were primarily used for hunting small animals like rabbit and rodents, but in modern age they are used as Human companions and Dog sports events.

🐕🦺 Not suitable for Family with very younger kids. Although they are very loving, loyal and intelligent, but they require a family that has experienced in handling Dogs and older children's.

So a family that has older children can train them with calmness and patience; and if all of this is taken into account and trained properly, so they can form exclusively good bonds with Humans.

💖Basenjis grooming skills like cats make them less allergy prone to humans, compared to other breeds. As they have very slight shedding and also the amount of dander(flakes of skin in dog's furs ) produced on them is very less in contrast to other dogs.
